In the middle of the pitch, Boca employs a four man midfield. Paredes and Battaglia act as the central pairing to control the tempo and protect the back four. Paredes works to recycle possession and find the feet of his teammates, while Battaglia helps to win the second ball and carries the ball forward. Zenón and Saralegui provide the width from the flanks, with Zenón looking to cut inside and Saralegui staying wide to cross. This midfield group connects the defence to the attack by moving the ball quickly from deep areas.

The attacking unit consists of two forwards in a partnership. Aguirre and Merentiel lead the line, with Merentiel often acting as a pressing centre forward to harass the opposition defenders. They work in combinations to create chances, with Aguirre looking for runs in behind to exploit the space. The wingers, Zenón and Saralegui, provide service by hitting the byline or playing short passes to the strikers. This movement creates opportunities for cutbacks and allows the strikers to turn and shoot.

A major advantage for Boca is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to build from the back. The team also benefits from wide overloads when Blanco or Baraniga overlap the wingers to create extra numbers. This creates space for the central midfielders to arrive late into the box.
