Starting Lineup

Andrade acts as the primary carrier to progress the ball, while Dequinha works to intercept passes and win the second ball. In front of them, Zizinho and Zico play as two tens in the half spaces. Zico uses his immense passing range to switch play and find attackers, while Zizinho looks to combine in tight spaces to break the line. This midfield group links the defense to the attack by recycling possession or playing direct balls to the strikers.

Flamengo utilizes two forwards in a partnership of Leônidas and Romario. Romario plays as a clinical finisher who looks to run in behind the defense, while Leônidas acts as a powerful presence to hold up the ball and link play. The attackers press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. When the team attacks, the wide players Zico and Zizinho look to cut inside to create central overloads. This movement creates space for Leandro and Junior to overlap and deliver crosses into the box.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through numerical superiority in the attacking half and the ability to press in pairs. The presence of Zico and Zizinho allows Flamengo to overload the central areas, making it difficult for opponents to defend the half spaces.
