The attacking front line is incredibly heavy, featuring four players who stretch the opposition defense. Morato and Rafael operate as a central partnership, with Morato acting as a target man to hold up the ball and Rafael looking to make runs in behind. Tuta and Beraldo occupy the wide areas as inverted wingers, cutting inside to create central presence and finding space in the pockets between the lines. This quartet is tasked to press from the front, forcing the opposition back line to play under heavy pressure.

One major advantage for São Paulo is the sheer numerical superiority in the attacking zones, which can overwhelm a standard back four. The team can also create wide overloads when I Couto and R Lodi push up to join the wingers, making it difficult for defenders to mark everyone.
