Starting Lineup

The attacking unit features a two-man partnership of Daei and Taremi. Daei uses his aerial strength and clinical finishing to lead the line as a target man. Taremi works alongside him to make runs in behind and press the opposition back line. The team builds play through quick transitions, looking to find Daei or Taremi with direct passes. This lineup allows the strikers to combine in tight spaces or stretch the defence by running into the channels.

This lineup offers great compactness when defending, making it hard for opponents to play through the middle. Iran can also exploit wide areas through the movement of Parvin and Nekounam. The presence of Daei provides a massive aerial threat during set pieces and long balls. Speed of transition is a key advantage when Bagheri and Kamiri win the ball and immediately find the forwards.
