Boca focuses on a vertical style of play through a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to hit teams in transition and use heavy numbers in the final third to force mistakes. The goal is to move the ball quickly from the back to the front to exploit gaps in the opponent.

P. Gazzaniga plays between the posts to start the build up. The defensive unit operates with a flat back four that stays relatively high to squeeze the space. K. Mac Allister acts as the right back to provide balance, while L. Blanco pushes up as the left back. G. Gómez and A. Costa form the central pairing, where G. Gómez uses his strength to win the second ball and A. Costa provides cover. The defenders must stay compact to avoid being caught by long balls behind them.

In the middle of the pitch, Boca uses a double pivot to control the center. L. Paredes © acts as the deep lying playmaker, dropping deep to collect the ball and switch play. W. Barrios provides the grit in this pairing, working to intercept passes and protect the center backs. These two connect the defensive line to the attack by recycling possession or playing through the lines to the forwards. They must remain disciplined to prevent the team from being overrun in the middle.

The attack is highly aggressive with four players leading the charge. S. Villa and C. Palacios act as wide wingers who want to cut inside to create goal scoring chances. In the center, R. Boca finds success by creating numerical superiority in the attacking third. The presence of four forwards allows the team to isolate defenders in one on one situations when the wingers pull wide.
