Alongside him, MINGA and MOUKILA act as two central midfielders who connect the defensive and attacking lines. MOUKILA often looks to drive forward with the ball, while MINGA works to recycle possession and switch play to the flanks.

In the final third, the attack is led by a lone striker, M’PELE, who works to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. On the wings, M’BONO and BAHAMBOULA act as wide attackers who hug the touchline to create space in the channels. These wingers look to cut inside and combine in tight spaces or deliver crosses into the box. The movement of the front three is designed to create runs in behind and isolate defenders one on one.

This formation offers significant advantages through its ability to press in coordinated waves from the front. By using the front three to trigger a press, Congo can win the ball high up the pitch and catch opponents out of position. The presence of the three central midfielders also allows for numerical superiority in the middle of the park to dominate possession.
