This three man midfield works to connect the defensive line to the attackers by moving the ball through the thirds.

Arsenal use three attackers to stretch the opposition defense. Gyökeres acts as a pressing centre forward who leads the line by bothering the opposition centre backs. Saka plays as an inverted winger on the right, frequently cutting inside to shoot or play one twos in tight spaces. On the left, Martinelli stays wide to pull defenders out of position and then looks to run in behind the defensive line. The front three work together to press from the front, forcing the opposition to play long balls that the defensive unit can intercept.
