São Paulo seeks to control games through a high press and verticality using a 3-4-3. This formation is built to squeeze the pitch and win the ball high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position. By utilizing three attackers and two wide midfielders, the lineup aims to create constant pressure in the final third.

Leandro acts as the last line of defense in goal. The back three consists of Isac in the center, flanked by Igão on the right and Sabino on the left. Igão and Sabino act as wide centre-backs to cover the channels, while Isac holds the line as the central pillar. This defensive unit functions to protect the middle of the pitch while providing a platform to play out from the back.

The midfield operates with a wide pairing of Maik and Mailton. Maik plays on the left to provide width, while Mailton operates on the right. In the center, Negrucci and Luan act as the engine room to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Negrucci and Luan must work to win the second ball and drive forward with the ball to transition quickly. They are tasked to compress the midfield and ensure the team remains compact when the ball is lost.

In the attacking phase, São Paulo utilizes three attackers across the front. Lucca operates on the left as an inverted winger to cut inside, while Rodriguinho takes the right flank to stretch the defence. A Silva leads the line as a lone striker to find the feet of the striker and hold up the ball. The movement of the wide players allows for overlaps and creates space for A Silva to work in combinations. The front three press the opposition back line to force a long ball.

One major advantage of this lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three to trigger a press. This creates numerical superiority in the attacking half. Additionally, the wide roles of Maik and Mailton allow for wide overloads when they push up to support the wingers. This setup makes it difficult for opponents to defend the flanks.

The 3-4-3 formation provides São Paulo with a heavy attacking presence and a high defensive line. This lineup is best suited for matches against teams that play a high line and can be caught on the transition.
