Next to him, Santos and Zwane act as two inverted eights who operate in the half spaces. Zwane is known for his incredible vision and ability to find teammates with precise passes, while Santos helps to connect the defensive and attacking lines. This trio works to compress the midfield and win the second ball whenever the opposition tries to play out from the back.

Sundowns attack with three players across the front to stretch the defence. Rayners plays as the central striker, acting as a pressing centre-forward to hunt the ball high up the pitch. On the flanks, Miguel and SHALULILE occupy wide positions. Miguel tends to cut inside to create space for his full back, while SHALULILE looks to exploit the channels and run in behind. Sundowns also benefit from wide overloads when Mudau or Modiba overlap the winger to deliver crosses into the box.
