Inter relies on a defensive identity using a 5-4-1 formation. This lineup is built to play a counter attacking style of football where the team stays compact and waits for the right moment to strike. The main goal is to deny space and use quick movement to catch the opponent off guard.

Saige stays between the posts to guard the goal. The defense functions as a back five where Poxmelator sits centrally to lead the line. Polaritype and Lalcina act as the two wide centre-backs to cover the space and protect the middle. Katsushiln and Configure play as attacking wing backs who are tasked to track back and defend the flanks while also looking to push up the pitch. The whole unit will drop into a low block to deny space to the opposition and keep the lines tight.

The midfield consists of a four man line designed to squeeze the space. NK (C), who serves as the captain, plays on the right side to help win the ball and drive forward. Joker and Lebron operate in the center to shield the defense and win the second ball. Rena stays on the left to help maintain the formation. These players look to connect the defensive and attacking lines by playing through the lines once possession is regained.

HyperS acts as a lone striker to lead the attack. This player must hold up the ball to allow the rest of the team to move up the pitch. When Inter move into transition, the team looks to hit in behind on the transition. NK (C) and Rena can move into the half spaces to support the striker. The wing backs, Configure and Katsushiln, will attempt to overlap the winger to create numbers in the final third and deliver crosses.

Inter gains clear tactical advantages such as compactness when defending in a narrow defensive block. Wide overloads can also be created when the wing backs push up to support the attack. This helps the team to switch play and find players in space. Winning the ball high up the pitch can also trigger a sudden break.

This 5-4-1 is a very solid formation that prioritizes defensive stability. It is best suited for games against heavy possession teams where the goal is to defend deep and break quickly.
