Inter seeks to control games through a balanced identity using a 4-4-2. This lineup is built to stay compact and move between a mid-block and a high press to win the ball back quickly. The formation allows the team to remain defensively solid while being ready to transition into a vertical attack.

HyperS operates as the goalkeeper to organize the back line. The defense features a flat back four with Katsushiln on the left and NK (C) on the right. NK (C) acts as the captain to lead the group. Order and Rena form the central pair to defend zonally and win the second ball. Katsushiln and NK (C) are expected to provide width, with NK (C) often looking to overlap the midfield to create extra numbers.

The midfield operates with a diamond to squeeze the space in the center. Poxmelator plays as a single pivot to shield the defense and intercept passes. Polaritype and Buzzjoy work as the two central midfielders who carry the ball forward and connect the defense to the attack. Saige plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers to find the feet of the forwards or arrive late into the box. This grouping allows Inter to press in pairs and win it back high up the pitch.

Inter uses two forwards in a partnership with Lalcina and Configure leading the front line. Lalcina and Configure combine in tight spaces, with one player often holding up the ball to allow the other to make runs in behind. Saige plays as a second striker in the hole to link up play between the lines. When the team wins possession, they aim to hit in behind on the transition by using the movement of the forwards and the energy of the midfield to break the lines.

A primary strength of this formation is the numerical superiority in midfield that can overwhelm opponents. The team can also compress the midfield to deny the turn to the opposition. Another advantage is the ability to use wide players to stretch the defence when attacking in a high block. This makes it hard for opponents to find space between the lines.

This 4-4-2 provides Inter with a way to stay compact and control central zones. It is best suited for facing teams that play with a single pivot or when the game requires a disciplined defensive block.
