The midfield functions as a central engine with a four man unit. Almendra and J. Nardoni occupy the central spaces to control the tempo and win it back high up the pitch. Almendra provides a presence to break the line with his passing, while J. Nardoni works to protect the back three. On the flanks, Martirena and G. Rojas act as wide midfielders who push high to provide width.
