Como Football Formation
Starting Lineup
DI GREGORIO · VALLE · RAMON · CRESWELL · KAYODE · PERRONE · BATURINA · CASADEI · RODRIGUEZ · DIAO · RETEGUIComo focuses on high pressing and quick vertical transitions through a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup looks to win the ball high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position. By staying compact and aggressive, the team aims to control the tempo of the game through direct play.
DI GREGORIO acts as the last line of defense to sweep up long balls. The back line consists of a flat four with RAMON and CRESWELL operating as the central pair. RAMON tends to step up to intercept passes, while CRESWELL provides cover and aerial strength. On the flanks, KAYODE pushes forward to overlap, whereas VALLE works to stay wide and provide width. This unit must shift together to maintain a high line and prevent through balls.
The midfield uses a single pivot system to control the center of the pitch. PERRONE sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and break up play. Ahead of him, CASADEI and BATURINA act as the engines, with CASADEI driving forward into the box and BATURINA connecting the lines with his passing range. This trio works to press the opposition midfield and regain possession quickly to start attacks.
In the final third, Como utilizes three attackers to stretch the opposition. RETEGUI leads the line as a lone striker, working to hold up the ball and lead the press. DIAO and RODRIGUEZ operate as wide wingers, with DIAO looking to cut inside from the right and RODRIGUEZ using his pace to beat his marker on the left. Their movements create gaps in the defensive lines for the advancing midfielders to exploit.
One major strength of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to build from the back. The team also creates wide overloads when KAYODE and VALLE push up to support the wingers. This allows Como to isolate players in one on one situations on the flanks.
This 4-3-3 formation is built for an aggressive team that wants to dominate through physical presence and quick ball movement. It is best suited for matches against sides that struggle to play under intense pressure in their own half.
