Starting Lineup

Yañez · Justin · Curbelo · Diego · Pablo García · Guille · Nacho Martín · Gelabert · Corredera · Otero · Dubasin

Real Sporting seeks to control the middle of the pitch and use heavy numbers in central areas, utilizing a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to dominate the ball and use aggressive pressing to win it back quickly in the opponent half. By occupying the central lanes, the team creates a compact block that is hard to play through.

Yañez starts between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit works with a back three consisting of Diego, Justin, and Curbelo. Justin acts as the central anchor while Diego and Curbelo cover the wider channels to provide protection. They tend to step up to compress the space, leaving Justin to sweep up long balls or intercept passes. This unit works as a single block to maintain compactness when sitting deep.

In the middle, the team utilizes a crowded midfield to control the tempo. Nacho Martín sits in the center to link the defense to the attack and break the lines with his passing. On either side, Pablo García and Guille provide energy to drive forward and press the opposition. This group is supported by the wide midfielders, Corredera and Gelabert, who occupy the half spaces to create passing lanes. The presence of five midfielders allows Real Sporting to outnumber opponents in the central zone.

The attack focuses on two forwards, Otero and Dubasin, who work in tandem to stretch the opposition. They often play as two strikers to occupy the central defenders and create space for the attacking midfielders. Otero and Dubasin lead the press from the front, forcing defenders to make hurried decisions. This movement allows the midfielders to push higher and join the attack during transitions.

One major advantage is the numerical superiority in the center of the pitch which allows the team to control the ball. Real Sporting can also create wide overloads when Corredera and Gelabert push forward to support the strikers. The compactness of the midfield and the back three makes it very difficult for opponents to find space between the lines. This formation allows for quick transitions when the ball is won in the middle third.

This 3-5-2 formation focuses on central dominance and aggressive ball recovery. It is best suited for games against teams that try to play through the middle, allowing the midfield to intercept and counter.
