Selangor Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Defensive GK · Build Up · Destroyer · Defensive Full-Back · Attacking Full-Back · Attacking Full-Back · Destroyer · Anchor Man · Hole Player · Creative Playmaker · Goal PoacherSelangor focuses on a high press and verticality using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball back quickly and push forward with speed to catch the opposition off guard. The team looks to control the middle of the park while using the wings to stretch the play and create scoring chances.
Defensive duties start with the Defensive GK, who stays deep to protect the goal. In front, the back line operates as a unit where Destroyer sits as the RCB to win physical duels and intercept passes. The LCB acts as a Build Up player to start attacks from the back. On the flanks, the Defensive Full-Back at RB stays deep to provide cover, while the Attacking Full-Back at LB pushes high to join the attack. This combination allows the unit to sit deep or step up depending on the ball position.
The midfield works as a central engine to control the game. The Anchor Man at LCM holds his position to shield the defense and break up play. Beside him, the Destroyer at RCM uses high pressing intensity to tackle and recover possession. The Creative Playmaker at AM sits just ahead of them to connect the lines and break the line with clever passes. This midfield group ensures Selangor can transition from defense to attack with precision.
In the final third, the team utilizes three attackers to pressure the opposition. The Goal Poacher at ST looks to stay central and make runs into the box to finish chances. On the wings, the Attacking Full-Back at RW provides width and can cross from deep, while the Hole Player at LW looks to cut inside and find space between the lines. These forwards press the opposition defenders to force mistakes and win the ball in high areas.
Selangor gains a massive advantage through their ability to press high in coordinated waves. The midfield trio and the front three work together to squeeze the opponent in their own half. Another strength is the ability to create wide overloads when the Attacking Full-Back at LB overlaps the LW. This creates space for the Hole Player to move into central areas and cause chaos.
This 4-3-3 formation is built for aggressive, high tempo football. It is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate possession and force the opponent into errors through intense pressure.
