A.Trubin sits between the posts to organize the defense. A flat back four provides the foundation, with I.Zabarnyi and M.Matvienko acting as the central pairing. I.Zabarnyi uses his aerial strength to clear crosses, while M.Matvienko covers the space behind him. On the flanks, Y.Konoplya and V.Mykolenko act as wide defenders who must track back to prevent crosses and step up to support the ball.

The midfield is the engine of the Ukraine team. O.Zinchenko (C) plays as the single pivot to shield the back four and break the lines with his passing range. Alongside him, R.Malinovskyi and H.Sudakov operate as central midfielders, with R.Malinovskyi looking to hit long passes and H.Sudakov driving forward to link the play. This group connects the defense to the attack by recycling possession or playing vertical balls.

In the attacking phase, the team uses a lone striker in A.Dovbyk. He is tasked to hold up the ball and occupy the opposition center backs. Supporting him are four attacking midfielders. V.Tsygankov and O.Hutsulyak operate from wide areas to cut inside and create chances, while the central midfielders push up to join the pressure. This setup forces the opposition to defend wide areas while managing the central threat of A.Dovbyk.
