Starting Lineup

Hassan · Hyeonjae · Ilhan · Kromhout · Putranto · Hongjoong · Sönmez · Reytha · Livingstone · Fabrice · Sonya

Searching for control through high pressing and quick transitions is the main goal for this lineup in a 4-3-3. This formation aims to dominate the pitch by squeezing the space in the opponent's half and using wide players to stretch the defence. The team is built to play a vertical game that moves from a high press directly into attacking combinations.

Hassan sits between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit functions as a flat back four where Putranto operates as the left back and Hyeonjae plays as the right back. Kromhout and Ilhan act as the central defenders to hold the line. Putranto and Hyeonjae are expected to push up to provide width while Kromhout and Ilhan stay compact to cover any runs in behind. This back four works to defend zonally and keep the distance between the lines tight.

In the middle of the pitch, the team operates with a three-man midfield. Hongjoong acts as the single pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. Reytha and Sönmez play as the two central midfielders to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Reytha works to drive forward with the ball and find the feet of the striker, while Sönmez looks to arrive late into the box. Hongjoong stays deep to deny the pivot of the opposition and picks up runners to maintain stability.

The attacking front line uses three attackers to pin the last defender. Fabrice leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and wait for support. Livingstone plays as the left winger and is expected to cut inside to create chances, while Sonya operates on the right as an inverted winger. These players work together to create runs in behind and isolate wide players in one on one situations. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball and win the second ball in the attacking third.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. When the team wins it back high up the pitch, the proximity of the midfield and the front three allows for immediate pressure. Another strength is the wide overloads created when Putranto and Hyeonjae overlap the winger. This allows the team to spread wide and use the full width of the pitch to move the opponent out of position.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on high intensity to win the ball back quickly and attack with pace. It is best suited for games against teams that play with a high line and struggle to defend against rapid transitions.
