Focusing on direct attacking play and high intensity, the team operates in a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to stretch the opposition through wide channels and heavy pressure in the final third. The goal is to win the ball high up the pitch and strike quickly before the defense can set itself.

Genovese stays between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line uses a flat back four where Nicolosi acts as the right back to provide width and Ferotti plays as the right centre back to win the header and clear the lines. On the left, Guerci plays as the left back to cover the flank while Pisani operates as the left centre back to step up and intercept passes. This defensive group must hold the line to prevent runners from getting behind.

The midfield consists of a double pivot tasked with controlling the middle of the park. Sillah and Quarto work together to protect the back four and recycle possession when the attack slows down. Sillah often looks to carry the ball forward to bridge the gap between the defense and the attackers. Quarto sits a bit deeper to deny the pivot of the opposition and pick up runners from deep. They must work hard to compress the midfield when the team loses the ball.

In the final third, the team utilizes three attackers across the front with an additional striker to create chaos. Ventura stays wide on the right wing to pull defenders away, while Mangiameli operates on the left wing to cut inside and find the feet of the striker. Di Stefano and Pandolfo work as a partnership in the center, with one acting as a target man to hold up the ball and the other looking to hit in behind on the transition. This front four aims to pin the last defender and create many chances through quick combinations.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to create wide overloads and heavy pressure. By having four players high up the pitch, the team can press in pairs to force a long ball from the opposition. The presence of two strikers against a standard back four allows for constant runs in behind and creates numerical superiority in the box during crosses.

The 4-2-4 lineup is a high risk, high reward system designed for overwhelming offensive dominance. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high line and struggle to defend against quick vertical transitions.
