GK (슈마) · CB (국스타) · LB (코쿠) · CB (말디니) · RB (사네티) · DMF (반봄멜) · CMF (셰돌) · AMF (마테우스) · CF (엑버뎀) · SS (펠레) · SS (크뤂)Focusing on a heavy high press and rapid transitions, this team operates with a 5-2-3 formation. The lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and hit the opposition back quickly before they can settle. This system relies on heavy intensity to squeeze the space in the middle and force errors.
In goal, GK keeps watch as the unit drops into a low block when needed. The defense consists of a back five including CB, CB, and DMF who sits as a central anchor. CB and CB act as the primary central defenders to defend zonally and protect the middle, while DMF provides cover to help the back line. On the flanks, LB and RB play as attacking wing backs to provide width and support the attack. This defensive unit can shift into a narrow defensive block to deny the turn of attackers.
The midfield is a two man unit consisting of LCM and RCM. These two players must cover a lot of ground to connect the defense and attack. RCM acts as a carrier to drive forward with the ball, while LCM works to intercept passes and recycle possession. They must stay compact to prevent the opposition from playing through the lines. When the team loses the ball, LCM and RCM must immediately press to win it back high up the pitch.
The attack is driven by three players working in close combinations. The front line features LW and SS who act as inverted wingers to cut inside into the half spaces. They are supported by RW and SS who also look to find space between the lines. CF plays as a lone striker to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. This frontline is designed to create runs in behind and facilitate quick cutbacks from the byline after the wing backs overlap.
This formation offers significant tactical advantages, specifically the ability to create wide overloads when LB and RB push high. The team can also achieve numerical superiority in the attacking third by having the wingers and the striker occupy the central channels. Another strength is the ability to press in coordinated waves, making it very difficult for the opposition to play out from the back.
This 5-2-3 lineup is a high intensity system built for teams that want to dominate through pressing and quick attacks. It is best suited for matches against opponents who struggle to play under pressure or leave large spaces behind their defensive line.
