Birmingham focuses on a compact, counter attacking identity through a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup is built to sit deep, absorb pressure, and strike quickly once the ball is won. The goal is to congest the middle of the pitch and use the width provided by the wing backs to catch opponents off guard during transitions.

Kevo stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates with a back three consisting of Keeni, Roba, and Boni. Keeni acts as the central anchor while Roba and Boni cover the spaces to the left and right. The wing backs, Ndweng and Capello, are tasked with providing the team's width. They must track back to form a five man block when defending deep, but they are also required to push up and overlap to support the attack.

The midfield relies on a three man unit that sits just ahead of the defense. Mujo and Wanyoike operate in the central spaces to intercept passes and protect the back three. They work to shield the center and break up play before the opponent can find space. Smash operates in the attacking midfield role, acting as the link between the holding players and the forwards. Smash looks to find pockets of space to receive the ball and drive forward to connect the lines.

Birmingham utilizes two forwards to lead the line. Nai and Kanja act as the primary attacking threats, often playing as a strike partnership. They work together to hold up the ball and bring the midfield into play. When the team wins possession, Nai and Kanja push high to stretch the opposition defense. Their movement creates space for Smash and the overlapping runs of Ndweng and Capello to penetrate the final third.

This formation offers several tactical advantages, especially in terms of defensive compactness.
