Starting Lineup

SVILAR (Gollini/Vasquez) · NDICKA (Kolasinac) · MANCINI (Hermoso) · GHILARDI (Ziolkowski) · UDOGIE (Tsimikas/El Sharaawy) · FRATTESI (Koopmeiners) · SANTOS (Casemiro) · WESLEY (Celik/Darmian) · DYBALA (Pellegrini/Bailey) · SOULE' (Maldini) · ENDRICK (Ferguson)

Roma aims to control the tempo through high pressing and quick vertical transitions using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup focuses on winning the ball back quickly in the opposition half to catch teams out of position. The team relies on intense energy to dominate much of the game through aggressive ball recovery.

SVILAR guards the goal and organizes the defensive line from deep. The back three consists of GHILARDI, MANCINI, and NDICKA who work as a cohesive unit to block crosses and intercept passes. MANCINI acts as the central anchor while GHILARDI and NDICKA cover the wide channels to prevent runners from getting behind. This defensive unit can sit deep or step up to squeeze the space between the lines.

The midfield works as a central block of four to control the middle of the pitch. FRATTESI and SANTOS occupy the central roles to shield the defenders and break the line with their passing. UDOGIE and WESLEY act as wide midfielders who must cover the entire flank. UDOGIE often pushes high to provide width while WESLEY tracks back to help the defense. This midfield engine connects the defensive three to the front line through constant movement.

In the attacking third, Roma uses three forwards to pin back the opposition. ENDRICK leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and bring others into play. DYBALA operates on the left and can cut inside to create chances with his vision and technical ability. SOULE' provides width on the right and looks to drive at defenders. These attackers press in coordinated waves to force turnovers near the opponent's goal.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages such as the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using UDOGIE and WESLEY wide, Roma creates wide overloads that force the opposition to pull defenders out of position. The presence of DYBALA and SOULE' allows the team to isolate wide players in one on one situations when they cut inside. This creates constant tension in the opponent's defensive line.

The 3-4-3 formation provides Roma with a high energy identity built on pressing and rapid attacks. This lineup is best suited for games against teams that play a high defensive line and struggle with quick transitions.
