Starting Lineup

Horn · Raux Yao · Cvetkovic · J. Auer · Bolla · Seidl · Amane · Antiste · Gulliksen · Wurmbrand · Hedl

SK Rapid looks to control games through high pressing and rapid transitions using a 3-4-3. This formation is built to push the opposition back and create heavy pressure in the final third. The lineup relies on high intensity and quick verticality to catch opponents out of position.

Hedl stays between the posts to anchor the defense. The back three consists of Horn, Cvetkovic, and Raux Yao. Raux Yao and Cvetkovic provide width in the defensive line while Horn acts as the central anchor. This unit often steps up to squeeze the space between the lines and maintain a high defensive line. The defenders work to intercept passes and cover the spaces left by the wide midfielders.

The midfield functions as a central block to control the center of the pitch. Seidl and Amane occupy the central roles to break the lines with their passing and press the opponent. Seidl works to connect the defense to the attack, while Amane looks to drive forward into space. On the flanks, J. Auer and Bolla act as wide midfielders who must track back to support the defense and push up to provide width in attack.

A heavy attacking presence is maintained with a front three. Antiste operates as a lone striker to hold up the ball and lead the press. He is flanked by Gulliksen on the left and Wurmbrand on the right. Both Gulliksen and Wurmbrand act as wide attackers who cut inside to threaten the goal or cross the ball into the box. This front line stays close together to keep the pressure high on the opposition backline.

One major advantage for SK Rapid is the ability to create wide overloads when J. Auer and Bolla push up alongside the wingers. Another strength is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, forcing mistakes from the opponent near their own goal. The formation also allows for quick transitions, as the three attackers can immediately sprint forward once the midfield wins the ball back.

This 3-4-3 formation provides SK Rapid with a high intensity attacking profile. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
