Motor Football Formation
Starting Lineup
SZEWCZYK (73) · NOWAKOWSKI (66) · MATTHYS (67) · EDE (68) · MOSQUERA (71) · WOLSKI (70) · ZURKOWSKI (70) · KARASEK (66) · RONALDO (72) · AL GANEHI (70) · DADASHOV (69)A vertical and aggressive style of play defines Motor in this 4-2-4 formation. This lineup focuses on heavy attacking pressure and rapid transitions to overwhelm the opposition. By committing many players forward, the team aims to force errors in the opponent's half and strike quickly through the center or out wide.
Szewczyk stays between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back four consists of Mosquera at right back, Ede as the right sided center back, Matthys as the left sided center back, and Nowakowski at left back. Ede and Matthys act as the central pillars, while Mosquera and Nowakowski are tasked to push up to provide width. This defensive unit must maintain discipline to prevent being caught out during counter attacks, often sitting in a mid block to protect the space behind them.
The midfield functions as a double pivot to provide a screen for the defense. Wolski and Zurkowski occupy the central areas, tasked with breaking the line of play and shielding the center backs. They must work hard to cover the ground between the defensive line and the front four. Their primary job is to win the ball and quickly pass it to the attackers, acting as the link that moves the ball from the back to the front.
The attacking unit is highly aggressive, utilizing two central forwards and two wide players. Karasek and Dadashov operate as the two strikers, working to hold up the ball and make runs behind the defense. On the flanks, Ronaldo cuts inside from the left to create more central threats, while Al Ganehi stretches the play from the right. This front four is designed to press the opponent's defenders constantly, making it difficult for them to build play from the back.
One major strength of this Motor lineup is the ability to create immediate goal threats through high numbers in the final third. The presence of Karasek and Dadashov forces defenders to stay deep, which creates space for Ronaldo to move into. Additionally, the double pivot of Wolski and Zurkowski allows the full backs, Mosquera and Nowakowski, to overlap and create wide overloads. This setup makes it very difficult for opponents to track every runner in the box.
This 4-2-4 formation is built for a high risk, high reward offensive output. It is best suited for games where Motor needs to break down a deep defensive block or when facing an opponent that struggles with intense pressing.
