Inter relies on a heavy high press and rapid transitions through a 4-3-3. This formation is built to pin opponents in their own half and win the ball back quickly to launch direct attacks. The lineup focuses on verticality and quick ball movement to catch the opposition out of position.

JOSEP starts in goal to oversee the defensive unit. The back line consists of a flat back four where AKANJI and BASTONI act as the central pair. AKANJI provides aerial strength and reliability in one on one duels, while BASTONI functions as a ball playing defender to start attacks from the back. On the flanks, DIMARCO pushes high to provide width and quality crosses, whereas E.GARCIA holds the line to ensure the team does not get caught on the break.

The midfield operates as a trio that connects the defensive block to the front three. BARELLA sits in the pivot role to shield the defense and break up play with high pressing intensity. In front of him, Q.TIMBER and SUCIC operate as the two central midfielders. Q.TIMBER drives forward to break the line with runs into space, while SUCIC works to link the play and find pockets of space between the lines. This midfield unit must work hard to cover ground and prevent counter attacks.

The attacking front line uses three players to stretch the opposition defense. LAUTARO acts as the lone striker who can hold up the ball and lead the press from the front. On the wings, M.THURAM and GNONTO provide constant movement. M.THURAM looks to cut inside from the right to create goal scoring chances, while GNONTO stays wide to pull defenders away from the center. These movements are designed to create space for the midfielders to make late runs into the box.

Inter offers several tactical advantages with this formation. The team can create wide overloads by having DIMARCO overlap with the wingers. There is also a significant ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three and midfield to trap the opponent. This creates a high degree of compactness when defending in the middle of the pitch, making it hard for opponents to pass through the center.

This 4-3-3 formation is centered on aggressive pressing and quick vertical transitions. It is best suited for games where the opponent tries to build slowly from the back and can be caught by high intensity pressure.
