Starting Lineup

LAUTARO (Esposito) · GNONTO (V.Carboni) · M.THURAM (Bonny) · DIMARCO (Augusto) · Q.TIMBER (Sucic, Diouf) · BAKU (Mingueza) · BARELLA (A.Stankovic, Akinsanmiro) · BASTONI (Chiarodia) · E.GARCIA (Bisseck) · AKANJI (Alexiou) · JOSEP (Atubolu)

Inter focuses on high pressing and rapid transitions through a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup aims to control the middle of the pitch and force turnovers in the opponent half. By using a heavy press, Inter looks to win the ball back quickly to catch the opposition out of position.

JOSEP acts as the last line of defense behind a back three. AKANJI sits in the center to provide aerial strength and cover the space behind his teammates. To his left, BASTONI operates as a ball playing defender who can step up to intercept passes. E.GARCIA occupies the right side of the central trio to maintain the defensive line. The defenders must stay compact to prevent through balls from breaking the block.

The midfield relies on a central core to link the defense to the attack. BARELLA plays as a deep lying midfielder to shield the back three and break up play. Alongside him, Q.TIMBER and BAKU operate to drive forward and occupy central zones. DIMARCO works in the wide areas to provide width and deliver crosses into the box. This group must shift together to cover the channels when the team loses possession.

In the final third, the team utilizes three attackers to stretch the opposition. LAUTARO leads the line as a striker who can hold up the ball and link play. On the wings, M.THURAM and GNONTO act as wide attackers to cut inside and create chances. These forwards press the opposition defenders constantly to prevent them from building play from the back. Their movement creates gaps for the midfielders to run into.

This formation offers significant advantages in terms of ball progression and width. The use of DIMARCO and the wide midfielders allows the team to create wide overloads to bypass the opposition flanks. Additionally, the ability to press high in coordinated waves puts immense pressure on the opponent. This allows Inter to win the ball in advanced areas and strike quickly.

The 3-4-3 formation provides a balance of defensive stability and attacking width. It is particularly effective against teams that play a high line and struggle with quick transitions.
