Starting Lineup
MICHALAK (70) · WDOWIK (72) · PINGOT (67) · EDE (70) · SHACKLETON (72) · WOLSKI (70) · ZURKOWSKI (70) · KARASEK (67) · FIGUEIREDO (72) · LOTTI (71) · SOSA (74)Motor aims to dominate through a high press and verticality using a 4-3-3. This lineup looks to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly move it toward the final third. The team plays a direct style of football that looks to catch the opposition out of position through quick transitions.
MICHALAK starts in goal to organize the back line. A flat back four consists of SHACKLETON at right back and WDOWIK at left back. In the center, PINGOT and EDE work together to defend the box. PINGOT and EDE need to cover the space behind the full backs when they push forward. SHACKLETON and WDOWIK are expected to overlap to provide width during build up play.
The midfield operates with a central trio that connects the defense to the attack. KARASEK plays as the attacking midfielder to push into the half spaces and find pockets of space. WOLSKI and ZURKOWSKI occupy the central roles to control the tempo. WOLSKI and ZURKOWSKI must track back to protect the center when the team loses possession. This midfield unit works to break the line with vertical passes to the front three.
In the attacking third, Motor uses three attackers to stretch the opposition defense. LOTTI acts as the lone striker to hold up the ball and bring others into play. FIGUEIREDO and SOSA play as wide wingers on the left and right flanks. FIGUEIREDO and SOSA are tasked to cut inside or cross the ball into the box. The movement of the front three creates space for the midfielders to make runs from deep.
This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to press high in coordinated waves. Motor can use the width provided by FIGUEIREDO and SOSA to isolate defenders in one on one situations. The presence of KARASEK in the hole allows the team to create numerical superiority in the final third. This setup makes it difficult for opponents to build from the back without facing immediate pressure.
The 4-3-3 formation relies on intense pressing and quick movement to break down opponents. This lineup is best suited for games against teams that play a high defensive line or struggle with speed in transition.
