Wilson (1) · negro (3) · Hueco (11) · Andy (8) · Derick (17) · Iván (7) · Kevin (12) · Oto (4) · Jeferson (21) · Luis (5) · Williams (9)Seeking to control the center of the pitch through high energy and ball progression, this team operates with a 3-5-2 formation. The lineup is built to dominate the middle thirds of the field and use aggressive movements to win the ball back high up the pitch. By using a heavy midfield presence, the team can squeeze the space in the center and force opponents into wide areas where they can be trapped.
Wilson guards the goal as the lone man in the defensive line. Ahead of him, a back three consisting of Oto, Iván, and negro provides a solid base to defend zonally. Iván acts as the central anchor, while Oto and negro provide width within the defensive unit to cover the flanks. This back three is tasked to play out from the back, looking to find the midfield to start attacks. They must stay compact to deny the turn to any incoming attackers and set the offside trap when the team pushes up.
The midfield is a five man engine room designed to win the second ball and drive forward. Hueco sits in the center to shield the defence and recycle possession. Beside him, Luis and Andy operate as the central runners, with Andy looking to carry the ball forward and Luis to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Williams and Derick play as wide midfielders who provide the necessary width. Williams pushes up to support the left side while Derick works to overlap the winger and provide service from the right. This group works to press in a mid-block to disrupt the opponent.
In the final third, the team utilizes two forwards in a partnership. Jeferson and Kevin lead the line, working to find the feet of the striker and make runs in behind. Jeferson often acts as the focal point to hold up the ball, allowing Kevin to find pockets of space. They press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. When the team moves in transition, Williams and Derick can find space to deliver early crosses or cut it back to the arriving midfielders.
One major advantage of this formation is the numerical superiority in midfield, which allows the team to control the tempo and intercept many passes. The ability to use Williams and Derick to stretch the defence creates wide overloads, often leaving the opposition full backs isolated in one on one situations. Another strength is the compactness when defending, as the midfield and back three can shift together to close down passing lanes.
This 3-5-2 formation focuses on central dominance and intense pressure to dictate the game. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a wide passing game or struggle to deal with heavy central congestion.
