Focusing on a heavy defensive presence and rapid transitions, this team utilizes a 5-3-2 formation to control space. The goal is to sit deep and remain compact before hitting the opposition on the break. This lineup relies on verticality to move the ball from the back to the front line as quickly as possible.

Greliak guards the goal and organizes the defensive unit. A back five provides a narrow defensive block where Maurino acts as the central anchor to clear the lines. Sanchez and Crivello operate as the wide centre-backs to cover the spaces behind the wing backs. Mazzotta 89 (C) serves as the left wing back, ready to push high up the pitch, while Panaro operates on the right side to provide width. This unit works to protect the central zone and win the second ball.

The midfield works as a three-man midfield with a carrier to connect the lines. Bongiovanni and Lores Varela operate in the central areas to press in a mid-block and win possession. Bonfiglio plays as an attacking ten behind the two strikers, looking to find pockets of space between the lines. This trio works to shield the defence and ensure that the connection between the back five and the front two remains strong during build up play.

The attack uses two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defence. Micoli and Zalazar play as a pair, often looking to run in behind the opposition defenders. They work together to hold up the ball and lay it off for Bonfiglio or the arriving midfielders. When the team wins the ball, the wing backs, Mazzotta 89 (C) and Panaro, push high to create wide overloads, which allows the strikers to focus on central runs.

One major strength of this formation is the compactness when defending, making it very hard for opponents to play through the middle. The team can also use the speed of transition to catch teams off guard once the midfield wins the ball. By having three central defenders, the team ensures they are always covered against long balls or direct attacks.

This formation is built to absorb pressure and strike with precision through a lethal two man strike force. It is best suited for games against possession heavy sides where the team can sit deep and exploit space on the break.
