Álvaro guards the goal and manages the defensive line from deep. The back four consists of Alejandro on the right side and Miguel on the left, while Fernando and Alejandro occupy the central roles. Fernando acts as a ball playing defender to start attacks from the back, while Alejandro provides cover and aerial strength. Alejandro and Miguel are expected to push up the pitch to provide width, while the center backs must step up to compress the space between the lines.

A midfield three provides the engine for Fénix. Julio Cesar and Manuel sit in the central areas to control the tempo and shield the defense. Julio Cesar works to intercept passes and break the line with vertical runs. Vladas plays in the advanced role as an attacking ten to connect the midfield to the front three. He looks to find pockets of space to receive the ball and create chances for the forwards. Manuel helps to hold the ball and switch play to the wide areas.

The attacking unit operates with three players in a line. German leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and bring others into play. Fabian stays wide on the right to cut inside and threaten the goal, while Juan Peregrino occupies the left wing to stretch the defense. These three forwards press high to force turnovers in the final third. The movements of Fabian and Juan Peregrino create space for German to find room in the box.

One major strength for Fénix is the ability to create wide overloads when Miguel and Alejandro overlap their respective wingers. This forces the opposing full backs to make difficult decisions. The team also benefits from the speed of transition when Vladas wins the ball in the middle third. This allows for immediate vertical passes to German and the wingers before the opponent can sit deep.
