Starting Lineup

Valle · Posch · D. Carlos · Van der Brempt · Douvikas · Baturina · Perrone · Da Cunha · Caqueret · Paz · Butez

Seeking to control the ball and press high up the pitch, Como utilizes a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup aims to dominate the central areas and push the opposition back into their own half. By spreading players across the width of the field, the team looks to break lines with quick passing and vertical runs.

Butez stays between the posts to organize the back line. A two man central defense consisting of Posch and D. Carlos provides the foundation, where they must stay compact to avoid being caught by long balls. Because there are only two central defenders, they need to step up to intercept passes and cover the space behind the midfield. This defensive unit relies on heavy pressure from the front to prevent opponents from getting into dangerous positions.

The midfield is very crowded to ensure control of the center. Valle and Van der Brempt act as a double pivot to shield the two defenders, while Perrone and Caqueret push higher to connect the play. Caqueret is known for his high work rate and ability to press in tight spaces. Da Cunha plays as the attacking ten, operating in the pockets of space between the opposition midfield and defense to create chances. This midfield group works together to win the ball back quickly and switch play to the wings.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers to stretch the opposition. Baturina and Paz occupy the wide areas as wingers, looking to cut inside or deliver crosses into the box. Douvikas acts as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and make runs into the channels. The wingers provide the width necessary to pull defenders out of position, creating gaps for Da Cunha or the late running midfielders to exploit.

This formation offers several tactical advantages, such as numerical superiority in the middle of the park. Having five players in the central bank makes it very difficult for opponents to play through the center. Como can also use the wide positions of Baturina and Paz to create overloads if the wingers drop slightly deeper. This allows for quick transitions from a central block to a wide attacking movement.

This aggressive 2-5-3 formation is built to dominate possession and squeeze the opponent in their own territory. It is best suited for games against teams that sit deep and struggle to cope with high pressure and central density.
