River focuses on aggressive pressing and quick transitions through a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup seeks to dominate the central areas of the pitch while using wide midfielders to stretch the opposition. The goal is to win the ball high up the pitch and drive forward immediately with vertical passing.

Franco Armani stays between the posts to command his area and organize the backline. A back three provides a solid base with Martínez Quarta acting as the right center back, while Rivero occupies the left center back position and Díaz holds the middle. These three defenders work together to maintain a high line to squeeze the space in midfield. They aim to intercept passes and cover any gaps left by the midfielders.

The midfield relies on a central unit to control the tempo and link play. Portillo sits deeper to shield the defense and break up opposition attacks. Acuña and Montiel occupy the central roles to drive the team forward and connect the defense to the attacking half. Galoppo and Lencina operate in the half spaces as attacking midfielders to support the front two. They push into the final third to create passing lanes and support the strikers.

Two strikers lead the line to pressure opposition defenders constantly. Ruberto operates as the left striker and Salas acts as the right striker to pull the center backs out of position. These forwards use their movement to create space for Galoppo and Lencina to run into. When the team loses the ball, they immediately press to force errors near the opponent's goal.

This formation offers great numerical superiority in the middle of the pitch. By using five midfielders, River can overwhelm opponents who play with a standard three man midfield. The positioning of Galoppo and Lencina creates wide overloads that force defenders to shift and leave gaps. This allows for rapid switches of play and quick combinations in the penalty area.

River utilizes this 3-5-2 to overwhelm opponents through central density and intense pressing. It is a system best suited for matches where the team needs to dominate possession and pin the opponent in their own half.
