Di Gregorio stands between the posts to command his area. The defensive unit relies on a compact pair of central defenders, Bremer and Gatti, who must cover significant ground. Bremer uses his aerial strength and physical presence to defend against direct balls, while Gatti provides cover and tackles in wider channels. Because there are no traditional full backs, these two must be ready to step up and intercept passes before the opponent can break the lines.

The midfield quartet provides the engine for this aggressive lineup. Kostic plays as a left defensive midfielder to help shield the back two, while Cambiaso acts as a right defensive midfielder to balance the central area. In front of them, Locatelli operates as a right attacking midfielder, using his passing range to switch play, and Koopmeiners plays as a left attacking midfielder. This double pivot and double ten setup allows the team to control the center and link the defense to the attack with rapid passing.

The attacking unit is extremely wide and aggressive. Yildiz operates on the left wing and looks to cut inside to create goalscoring chances, while F. Vlahovic works to hold up the ball and finish chances, while Openda uses his pace to run into channels. This four man front line is designed to press high and force turnovers near the opponent goal.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. The team can create wide overloads by having the midfielders push high alongside the wingers. There is also a high ability to press high in coordinated waves, as the four attackers and two attacking midfielders can trap the opponent in their own half. Additionally, the proximity of the players allows for quick short passes to break the lines during transitions.
