Seeking to control games through heavy pressing and quick transitions, Swansea utilizes a 3-4-3 formation. Rigg and Busio must work hard to cover the space left by the wide players and shield the back three. Galbraith and Mundle operate as wing backs to provide width and stretch the opposition. They are responsible for tracking back to help the defense and pushing up to overlap in the final third.

In the attacking phase, the team employs three forwards to pin the opposition defense. Vipotnik leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and bring others into play. Hauge and Azdic operate as wide attackers, often cutting inside to create shooting opportunities or crossing the ball into the box. The movements of Hauge and Azdic create space for the midfielders to make late runs into the penalty area.

Swansea can create numerical superiority in the wide areas when Galbraith and Mundle push high. The coordination of the front three allows the team to press in waves, making it hard for opponents to play out from the back.
