This unit can step up to squeeze the space or drop back to maintain a compact block when the team sits deep.

The midfield utilizes a central duo of McCowan and Bernardo to control the center of the pitch. McCowan works to intercept passes and break the line of play, while Bernardo drives forward to connect the defense to the attack. On the flanks, Maeda and Balikwisha act as wide midfielders who must track back to help the defenders and push up to support the front line. This midfield arrangement allows the team to shift from a wide presence to a narrow bank of four when defending.

Celtic uses three attackers to stretch the opposition defense. Kenny leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and bring others into play. Touenkti plays on the left wing to cut inside and create chances, while Hatate operates on the right to push high.
