Starting Lineup
fabian · amador · Jerry · owel · yoriel · kerry · jordan · deyron · cristopher · axel · fabricioA focus on controlling the middle and hitting teams on the break defines this side as they operate in a 4-5-1. The formation is built to sit in a compact block and wait for the right moment to spring forward. By using five midfielders, the lineup seeks to crowd the central areas and deny space to the opponent.
Fabian stands between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit functions as a flat back four, with amador acting as the right back to provide width and deyron holding the left. In the middle of the defense, kerry and yoriel work together to defend zonally and win the second ball. They must hold the line to keep the defensive unit compact and ensure they do not get stretched by long balls.
The midfield is a dense block designed to squeeze the space between the lines. Jerry acts as the single pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession when needed. Beside him, jordan and owel occupy the central roles to press in a mid-block and intercept passes. Axel and cristopher operate in the half-spaces as attacking midfielders, ready to carry the ball forward or find the feet of the striker during transitions.
In the attacking phase, the team relies on a lone striker in fabricio to lead the line. Fabricio must hold up the ball to allow the midfielders to join the attack. Axel and cristopher act as attacking midfielders playing just behind him, looking to cut inside and create chances. The team uses the width provided by the full backs to spread wide, while the front line works to press the opposition back line to force a long ball.
This formation offers a high level of compactness when defending, making it very hard for opponents to play through the center. Another strength is the ability to hit in behind on the transition, using the quick movements of Axel and cristopher to catch a defense out of position. By crowding the midfield, the team can easily win the second ball and start attacks quickly.
The 4-5-1 lineup is a resilient formation built for defensive stability and sudden verticality. It is best suited for matches against teams that dominate possession where the goal is to sit deep and counter at pace.
