Inter relies on a high press and rapid transitions to dominate games through a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup focuses on verticality and aggressive ball recovery to overwhelm opponents in their own half. By utilizing a three man back line and aggressive wide players, Inter aims to control both the central areas and the flanks.

JOSEP stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defense features a back three consisting of BISSECK, BASTONI, and AKANJI. BASTONI acts as a ball playing defender who can step up into midfield, while AKANJI and BISSECK provide cover and aerial strength. The wide players in this system are DIMARCO and DUMFRIES, who act as wing backs to provide width. DIMARCO pushes high to deliver crosses, whereas DUMFRIES uses his power to overlap and drive into the box.

The midfield operates with a double pivot of BARELLA and SUCIC. BARELLA uses his high pressing intensity and work rate to cover ground and break the line with forward runs. SUCIC works alongside him to connect the defense to the attack and help shield the back three. This unit must sit deep when out of possession to block passing lanes, but they push up quickly to support the front line during attacks.

The attacking front line uses three attackers to stretch the opposition. LAUTARO plays as the lone striker, using his movement to hold up the ball and lead the press. M.THURAM operates on the right side, often cutting inside to create goal scoring chances, while CHIESA plays on the left with his dribbling style to beat markers. These three forwards work together to pin the opponent back and create space for the wing backs to join the play.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages, such as the ability to create wide overloads when DIMARCO and DUMFRIES push forward. The presence of BARELLA in the midfield ensures a high level of energy to win the ball back quickly. Inter can also isolate M.THURAM and CHIESA in one on one situations by using the width of the pitch to pull defenders out of position.
