Starting Lineup

Georgia focuses on a direct style of play through a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup works to transition quickly from defense to attack once they win the ball. The team relies on high energy to win possession and push the opposition back into their own half.

Wato stays between the posts to command the area and organize the back line. The defense operates as a flat back four with GLuka and Kaci playing as the wide defenders. GLuka and Kaci are tasked to overlap when the team pushes forward. In the center, Tskhoy and Enuq act as the main blockers. Tskhoy uses his physical presence to win headers, while Enuq covers the space behind to intercept long passes.

The midfield works as a single pivot system with Sergo holding the position in front of the defense. Sergo shields the back four and breaks up play to stop counter attacks. Moving forward from that pivot, Kandela and Sandrex operate as two central midfielders who connect the lines. Kandela looks to drive the ball forward into space, while Sandrex moves between the lines to find pockets of room. This unit helps Georgia maintain control in the middle of the pitch.

Up front, the team utilizes three attackers to stretch the opposing defense. Netoffa acts as the lone striker to hold up the ball and bring others into the play. On the flanks, Bezhu and Qochi act as wide wingers. Bezhu likes to cut inside to shoot, while Qochi uses his pace to run down the wing and cross the ball. These three players press high to force mistakes from the opponent.

One major strength is the ability to create wide overloads through the runs of Kaci and GLuka. When the full backs push up, they provide extra passing lanes for the wingers. Another advantage is the compactness of the midfield trio, which allows the team to shift quickly and block passing lanes. This setup makes it very difficult for opponents to play through the center.
