Starting Lineup

Ledesma (Armani) · Rivero (Millán) · Martinez Quarta (Pezzela) · Montiel (Obregón) · Acuña (Román Vega) · Quintero (Maxi Meza) · Portillo (Fausto Vera) · Castaño (Galoppo) · Lencina (Galarza) · Colidio (Driussi) · Gondou (Salas)

Aiming to dominate through verticality and constant pressure, River plays with a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to push the opposition back and control the pitch by using wide players to stretch the play. The team looks to transition quickly from defense to attack to catch opponents out of position.

Gondou acts as the last line of defense in goal. In front of him, a back three consists of Colidio, Quintero, and Lencina. Quintero plays as the left central defender while Lencina occupies the right side, leaving Colidio to hold the center. These defenders must step up to intercept passes and stay compact when the team sits deep. The wide midfielders, Acuña and Montiel, act as wing backs who provide width and cover the flanks, often pushing up to overlap or tracking back to defend the wide areas.

The midfield relies on a central pairing of Castaño and Portillo to control the center of the pitch. Castaño and Portillo must work to shield the back three and break the lines with their passing. They act as the engine, connecting the defense to the forward line. By sitting in the middle, they help the team win the ball back quickly and switch play to the wings.

The attack is built around three players who create constant movement. Ledesma leads the line as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and pin the opposing defenders. On the wings, Martinez Quarta and Rivero act as wide attackers. Martinez Quarta often looks to cut inside to create space, while Rivero uses his positioning to find gaps in the defense. They press high to force mistakes and move in unison to support Ledesma.

River offers several tactical advantages with this setup. The use of Acuña and Montiel allows for wide overloads, creating situations where the team has more players near the touchline than the opponent. This formation also enables the team to press high in coordinated waves, with the front three and midfield working together to squeeze the space. The presence of Ledesma allows the team to maintain a central threat while the wingers stretch the backline.

This 3-4-3 formation focuses on aggressive pressing and rapid transitions. It is best suited for games where River needs to overwhelm an opponent through wide areas and high intensity.
