Chivas relies on a direct and high intensity style of play through a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup looks to dominate the pitch by using wide areas to stretch the opposition and push the play deep into the final third. The goal is to use verticality to transition quickly from a defensive block to a dangerous attacking front.

Rangel sits between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit consists of a back three with Campillo acting as the central defender to hold the middle. REY plays as the right center back to cover wide spaces, while Castillo occupies the left center back spot. These three must work together to step up and intercept passes or drop back to protect the goal.

The midfield operates as a four man unit to control the center and the flanks. ROMO and González occupy the central roles to shield the defense and break the lines with their passing. On the edges, LEDEZMA and BRYAN GONZÁLEZ act as wide midfielders to provide width and track back when the team loses possession. This midfield group links the defense to the attack by moving the ball quickly between the lines.

The attack features three players tasked with pressing high and making runs into space. EFRAÍN ÁLVAREZ and ALVARADO play as wide forwards, looking to cut inside or cross the ball into the box. ARMANDO GONZÁLEZ leads the line as the lone striker to hold up the ball and finish chances. This front line is designed to create movement that pulls defenders out of position.

Chivas gains a significant advantage by using wide overloads through the combination of the wide midfielders and the wingers. This creates constant pressure in the channels and forces the opposition to defend a lot of space. The formation also allows for high pressing in coordinated waves, making it hard for opponents to build play from the back.

This 3-4-3 formation provides a balanced way to attack and defend through the use of wide players. It is best suited for matches against opponents who sit deep and can be broken down by width and high intensity.
