Starting Lineup

Seeking to dominate through defensive solidity and quick transitions, this team relies on a 5-3-2 formation. The lineup is built to sit in a compact mid-block and hit opponents on the break. By using three central defenders, the team aims to control the central zones before launching direct attacks toward the forwards.

Sagor acts as the last line of defense behind a narrow defensive block of five. Talha operates as the central figure in a back three, where he focuses on winning the header and clearing the lines when under pressure. Abir and Wasi act as wide centre-backs, with Abir covering the left side and Wasi covering the right. Razzo plays as a left wing back to provide width, while the right wing back is tasked with pushing up the flank to support the attack. This defensive unit works to squeeze the space and ensure the opposition cannot play through the middle.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier and a holding presence. Sadik plays as a single pivot to shield the defence and intercept passes. Ridwan and Nafiz operate in the half-spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Ridwan is tasked to drive forward with the ball, while Nafiz works to recycle possession and switch play to the flanks. This trio must work to press in a mid-block to force a long ball from the opponent.

In the attacking third, the team utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defence. Soccho plays as a left striker, acting as a pressing centre-forward to trigger a press from the front. Mahatir operates as a right striker to find the feet of the striker and play one-two combinations. The two attackers look to make runs in behind the opposition line when the wing backs provide width. This combination of two strikers allows the team to attack in transition and target the space behind the opponent's defenders.

One major strength of this formation is the ability to create width through the wing backs, which creates wide overloads when Razzo and the right wing back push high. The team also benefits from significant compactness when defending, making it very hard for opponents to find gaps between the lines. Another advantage is the speed of transition, as the midfield can quickly bypass the midfield to find the two strikers.

This 5-3-2 formation provides a very strong defensive base while remaining dangerous on the counter. It is best suited for matches against teams that dominate possession and leave space behind their defensive line.
