Sudan relies on a high press and verticality within a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup aims to crowd the middle of the pitch and overwhelm opponents through central density and quick transitions. The team looks to win the ball high up the pitch and move it forward immediately to the front three to catch the opposition out of position.

محمد أبوجا sits between the posts to anchor the defensive unit. The back line consists of only two central defenders, محمد أرناق and مصطفى كرشوم, who must stay compact and communicate constantly to cover large spaces. Because there are no full backs, these two central defenders must step up to intercept passes and track runners in wide areas. They need to remain disciplined to prevent long balls from breaking the line.

The midfield is heavily concentrated with five players to dominate the center of the pitch. A double pivot of أحمد طبنجة and بخيت خميس provides the base to shield the defense and break up play. In front of them, ولي الدين الخضر and ياسر عوض operate as central midfielders to drive the team forward and link the defense to the attack. صلاح عادل plays as the attacking midfielder to operate in the pockets between the opposition midfield and defense, looking to play through balls to the strikers.

The attack uses three forwards to stretch the opposition. محمد تيه أسد acts as the lone striker to hold up the ball and provide a focal point for the midfield. On the flanks, محمد عبد الرحمن and عبد الرؤوف يعقوب act as wide attackers to provide width and stretch the opposing back line. These wingers are tasked to cut inside or hit the byline to deliver crosses, while the front three work together to press the opposition defenders as soon as they gain possession.

Sudan gains a massive advantage through numerical superiority in the central areas. Having five midfielders allows the team to control the tempo and intercept many passes in the middle third. Another strength is the ability to create quick transitions because the close proximity of the midfielders to the front three allows for rapid ball movement. The presence of صلاح عادل in advanced positions allows the team to overload the final third during sustained pressure.

This 2-5-3 formation creates a heavy central presence meant to suffocate the opposition in the middle. It is a high risk, high reward lineup best suited for games where Sudan can control the ball and press intensely to force turnovers.
