Torino prefers to play with a high press and quick transitions through a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup relies on winning the ball high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position. The team wants to control the middle of the park while using wide players to stretch the opposition back line.

Israel stays between the posts to organize the defense. A back three consisting of Maripan, Tameze, and Coco provides a solid base. Maripan acts as the central anchor, while Tameze and Coco cover the wide areas of the defensive line. This trio is expected to hold a high line to keep the team compact. When the opposition attacks, these defenders must drop back quickly to block crosses and protect the central zone.

The midfield operates with a central engine consisting of Asllani, Casadei, and Vlasic. Casadei works to drive forward and link the play, while Asllani and Vlasic sit deeper to shield the back three. This group provides the link between the defense and the attack. Lazaro and Pedersen occupy the wide areas to provide width. Lazaro pushes up the left flank to cross the ball, while Pedersen works on the right to overlap and find space.

The attacking unit uses two forwards to pressure the opposition defenders. Zapata leads the line as a target man, using his aerial strength to hold up the ball and win headers. Adams plays alongside him, looking to make runs into the channels and break the line. These two forwards press the opposition backline constantly to force mistakes. The movement of Zapata and Adams creates space for the midfielders to push into the final third.

Torino gains a massive advantage through numerical superiority in the midfield. By having five players in the center, the team can often overwhelm opponents who play a standard two man midfield. The wide presence of Lazaro and Pedersen also allows for quick switches of play to exploit the flanks.
