Rivero stands between the posts to command the defensive line. The back four consists of a flat line where Redondo operates as a right back while Cundi provides width on the left. In the center, Doria and Rezza work together as a pair of central defenders. Doria and Rezza must maintain a high line to compress the space, with one player often stepping up to intercept passes while the other covers the space behind.

The midfield functions as a central trio to control the tempo and link the defense to the forwards. Mesa and Joaquín operate in the central roles, with Mesa often pushing into advanced pockets to drive the play forward. Ciriaco sits deeper to shield the back four and break the lines with his passing. This midfield group must work hard to track back when out of possession and shift across to cover the wide areas.

In the attacking third, Real Sporting utilizes three players to stretch the opposition. Uría plays as a wide winger on the left and Morán occupies the right flank to provide width. Quini, the captain, leads the line as a lone striker. Quini acts to hold up the ball and bring others into play, creating space for Uría and Morán to cut inside. The movement of these three attackers is designed to pull defenders out of position and create gaps in the middle.
