Boca wants to play with extreme verticality and high pressure using a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup aims to overwhelm the opposition in the final third by committing many bodies forward to hunt the ball. The goal is to use heavy pressing and rapid transitions to catch opponents before they can settle.

A. Marchesín starts in goal to command the box and organize the back four. The defensive line consists of Y. Mina and A. Costa in the middle, where Y. Mina provides aerial strength and physical presence. N. Molina pushes up the right flank to act as an attacking full back, while L. Blanco covers the left side. The defenders must step up to keep the line high and support the intense press occurring further up the pitch.

The midfield works with a double pivot to maintain some control in the center of the pitch. L. Paredes sits in the right central role to break the lines with his passing range and shield the defense. F. Loyola occupies the left central position to help connect the defensive unit with the front four. These two players must work hard to track back and cover the space left behind by the advancing full backs.

Boca uses four dedicated attackers to pin the opposition defense back. J. Brunetta and M. Merentiel operate as the two central forwards, with M. Merentiel often looking to hold up the ball and fight for position. K. Zenón and M. Hinestroza provide width from the wings, looking to cut inside or deliver crosses into the box. This front line is designed to press the opposing defenders immediately upon losing possession.

The main advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads and numerical superiority in the attacking zones. By having N. Molina and M. Hinestroza on the same side, the team can bypass wide defenders easily. The coordinated waves of the front four make it very difficult for opponents to play out from the back. This high intensity allows the team to recover the ball in dangerous areas.

This 4-2-4 formation is built for aggressive, high-scoring football that relies on directness. It is best suited for matches where Boca wants to dominate through sheer attacking volume and high pressing.
