River aims to dominate through high pressing and quick vertical attacks using a 4-2-4. This formation relies on heavy pressure in the opponent's half to win the ball back early and launch immediate strikes. The lineup is built to stretch the pitch and overwhelm the opposition with numbers in the final third.

J. Ledesma acts as the last line of defense, sweeping behind a back four. G. Pezzella and P. Díaz form the central pair, where Pezzella provides aerial strength and leadership in the box. F. Bustos and L. Obregón occupy the wide positions, often pushing high to provide width or tracking back to cover the flanks. The defenders must maintain a high line to keep the team compact and compress the space available to the opponent.

The midfield uses a double pivot to manage the center of the pitch. K. Castaño and J. Portilla work together to shield the defense and break the lines with forward passes. They act as the engine room, with one player often dropping deeper to collect from the defense while the other moves up to support the attack. This two man unit connects the back line to the aggressive front four.

The attacking unit is composed of two central forwards and two wide players. S. Driussi and F. Colidio operate as the primary goal threats, with Driussi using his ball control to hold up the ball. J. Quintero and S. Lencina provide width and create chances from the flanks, often cutting inside to overload the central areas. The forwards are expected to press hard, forcing mistakes from the opposition defenders.

River offers significant advantages through its ability to create wide overloads and force high turnovers. By committing four players forward, the team can isolate wide players in one on one situations against tired defenders. The double pivot provides a solid base to prevent counter attacks, while the coordination of the front four allows for pressing in waves.

This 4-2-4 formation is a high risk, high reward system designed for heavy offensive pressure. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to break down a low block or chase a result through sheer attacking volume.
