PAS Giannina relies on a direct and organized style of play using a 4-4-2 formation. This lineup is built to maintain compactness and strike quickly when the opposition loses possession. The team looks to control space in the middle of the park and transition from defense to attack with speed.

The defensive unit starts with ΦΑΤΑΓΙΕΦ in goal to protect the net. A flat back four provides the foundation for PAS Giannina, with ΧΑΡΤΟΦΙΛΑΚΑΣ and ΣΤΟΥΜΠΟΣ acting as the full backs to manage the wide areas. In the center, ΓΚΕΒΕΖΟΣ and ΔΙΟΓΟΣ work together to hold the line and win aerial duels. These four defenders move in unison to block passing lanes and push up to keep the team compact.

In the middle of the pitch, the team uses a double pivot to shield the back four. ΚΑΡΑΝΑΣΟΣ and ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΥ work to intercept passes and break up play before the opponent can progress. Ahead of them, ΜΕΛΗΔΙΣ and ΑΛΗΜΠΕΡΤΙΣ occupy the wide areas in a central midfield role to link the play. This midfield group must work hard to track back and cover the spaces left when the full backs push forward.

The attacking part of the 4-4-2 utilizes two forwards to pressure the opposition defense. ΚΕΡΑΣΤΑΣ and ΒΙΟΡΕΣ operate as a pair, with one player often looking to hold up the ball while the other makes runs into the channels. The wingers, ΜΕΛΗΔΙΣ and ΑΛΗΜΠΕΡΤΙΣ, provide the width needed to stretch the back line. They look to deliver crosses or cut inside to find the strikers in central positions.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create numerical superiority in the defensive block. The two banks of four make it very hard for opponents to play through the center. Additionally, the team can quickly switch play to the flanks to isolate wide players in one on one situations. This allows for rapid transitions once the midfield recovers the ball.

The 4-4-2 formation provides PAS Giannina with a reliable and defensive presence. It is best suited for games against teams that dominate possession where a low block and quick counter attacks are required.
