Starting Lineup

Czechia aims to play a vertical and direct game based on high pressing and quick transitions in a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to control the middle of the pitch while using the width of the wings to stretch opponents. Kovar guards the goal while the three central defenders form a compact block. Vitik sits in the center to use his aerial strength and dominance in the air. The defenders work together to maintain a high line and step up to intercept passes before they reach the final third.

The midfield uses a central core to control the game. Soucek acts as the single pivot to shield the defense and break up play with his intense pressing. Karabec plays as a right central midfielder to drive forward and link the lines, while Sulc operates on the left side of the central trio to create chances. On the flanks, Jurasek and Cerny occupy the wide areas to provide width and help the central players when the team needs to shift to a five man defense.

The attack relies on a two man front line to pressure the opposition back line. Schick leads the line as the left striker, using his movement to pull defenders out of position. Hlozek plays as the right striker to hold up the ball and link play with the incoming midfielders. These two forwards press in coordination to force mistakes and create openings for the wide players to cross the ball into the box.

This formation offers Czechia the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using Jurasek and Cerny to pin back the opposition full backs, the team creates numerical superiority in the middle of the pitch. The presence of Soucek and the central trio allows the team to win second balls and quickly switch play to the wings. This setup also makes it hard for opponents to find space between the lines.
