Slovakia aims to play a direct and aggressive style of football through a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup focuses on quick transitions and heavy pressure on the opponent to force turnovers in high areas. By committing many bodies forward, the team looks to overwhelm the defensive line of the opposition through rapid vertical passes.

Greif stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates with a flat back four where Skriniar acts as the central pillar, using his aerial strength and reading of the game to intercept crosses. Beside him, Obert provides cover and helps step up to squeeze the space. Hancko pushes high from the left to offer width, while Gyomber tracks back to defend the flank and maintain the integrity of the line.

The midfield relies on a double pivot to maintain control. Lobotka acts as the primary link, using his passing range to switch play and find the forwards. Duda works alongside him to press intensely and disrupt the opponent's build up play. Together, Lobotka and Duda must cover large distances to protect the central areas and ensure the team does not get caught on the break.

In the attacking third, Slovakia uses four players to stretch the defense. Suslov and Strelec lead the line as two central forwards, tasked with making runs to break the line and hold up the ball. Haraslin and L. Sauer occupy the wide areas, where they can cut inside or deliver crosses into the box. This attacking group presses in waves to prevent the opposition from building from the back.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads when Hancko and Gyomber join the attack. The team also creates numerical superiority in the final third, making it difficult for opponents to mark everyone. By using a high press, Slovakia can isolate wide players in one on one situations to exploit gaps in the defensive block.
