Next to him, Stanciu and Dragomir occupy the central roles to connect the defense with the attack. Stanciu uses his passing range to break the line, while Dragomir works to drive the ball forward and press in the middle. This trio ensures the team can transition from a defensive block to an attacking phase with speed.

In the attacking third, Romania uses three attackers to stretch the opposition. Birligea acts as a lone striker to hold up the ball and provide a focal point for long passes.
