Boca focuses on a heavy press and rapid transitions through a 4-5-1 formation. This lineup aims to disrupt the opposition in their own half and win the ball back quickly to feed the lone striker. The team looks to control the central areas while using the width of the pitch to stretch tired defenders.

A. Marchesín acts as the last line of defense behind a flat back four. M. Braida and D. Gorosito operate as full backs, with Braida often looking to overlap to provide width on the left. In the center, K. Lomónaco and M. Pellegrino form the defensive pairing. Lomónaco provides aerial strength while Pellegrino focuses on covering the space behind the high line. The whole unit works to stay compact and shift together to close down passing lanes.

The midfield functions as a five man block with a double pivot providing protection. F. Loyola and T. Belmonte sit in front of the defense to shield the back line and intercept passes. Ahead of them, A. Velasco, K. Zenón, and E. Zeballos operate in the central and half spaces. Zenón uses his passing range to connect the lines, while Zeballos and Velasco look to break the line with forward runs. This group works to congest the middle and stop opponents from playing through the center.

The attack is built around a lone striker, T. Castellanos, who must hold up the ball to bring the midfielders into play. Castellanos works to press the opposition center backs and create space for the five midfielders to push forward. The wide players in the midfield line often cut inside to create overloads in the box. This movement forces the opposition defense to choose between marking the central runner or tracking the wide players.

Boca gains a massive advantage through their ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using the five midfielders to squeeze the space, they can force turnovers in dangerous areas. Another strength is the numerical superiority in the central midfield when the full backs push up. This allows the team to quickly switch play to the flanks when the center is blocked.

This formation relies on intense work rates to maintain a high press and quick verticality. It is best suited for games where the team needs to suffocate a ball playing opponent and strike on the break.
